What Is Student Affairs Assessment?

Student affairs divisions such as University Life consist of co-curricular units with programs and services that aim to promote student learning outside of the classroom and contribute to student success. Assessment in the context of student affairs encompasses an ongoing process of: (1) establishing clear, measurable expected operational outcomes and student learning outcomes, (2) ensuring sufficient opportunities to achieve those outcomes, (3) systematically gathering, analyzing, and interpreting evidence to determine how well performance matches expectations, and (4) using the resulting information to understand and improve operational processes and student learning (Suskie, 2018).

UL Assessment and Evaluation

The Office of UL Assessment aims to advance a culture of data-based decision making and information-sharing by implementing and supporting continuous division-wide assessment and evaluation such as the Annual Assessment Cycle, Student Employee Experience (SEE), and CAS Program Review.
